The university offers an option for student organisations to finance various activities.

You can apply for the Promotion Fund when you:

• organise an event, workshop, lecture or other activities within your association
• apply for funding to finance the costs of your legal registration if you are establishing a new organisation

<aside> 💲 The funding per activity ranges from 100 to 750 EUR.

On the website, factors that increase your chance of receiving the fund are described. However, the following activities are not eligible for the Promotion Fund subsidy:

• sports activities (for these you can apply to Sportraad MUSST)
• activities organised by faculty student associations
• parties, drinks, dinners or lunches
• activities of national associations
• participation in study trips, congresses, etc. by individual students

<aside> ⏰ You will need to approach the Promotion Fund at least 6 weeks before the activity (or legal registration) takes place if you want to apply for the fund!

The fund can be provided as a guarantee subsidy, under the following conditions:

• within 3 months after the end of the activity (or after the legal establishment of the organisation), you must provide the Promotion Fund with a written account about the progress of the activity and how the funding was spent
• the activity has to actually take place. If the activity eventually does not take place, the subsidy will be reimbursed
• the Stimuleringsfonds-Maastricht University must be mentioned in case of publications

In the case of legal registration, you must attach a tender from the notary alongside your application form. The subsidy can cover the costs of setting up the intrastructure of your organisation, such as notary fees, Chamber of Commerce registration costs and bank costs. With the amount of €750 the costs of the notarial deed and the registration at the KvK are usually reimbursed.

<aside> ❗ The application form for applying for the Promotion Fund is the same for the subsidy of an activity as subsidy for legal registration of your student organisation.
