The University Fund Limburg, UFL, former SWOL, is the external support office for fundraising of Maastricht University.
Grants for student events – CooSa
UFL is offering grants for student events, 4 times a year. The grants are processed by our CooSa committee, in which SSC and several student organisations are represented, such as MUSST, SV Koko, Circumflex, Tragos, Alles is Drama, Onafhankelijk Maastricht and International Students.
CooSa means ‘Commissie voor Ondersteuning van Studenten Activiteiten’, Committee for Supporting Student Initiatives.
All students enrolled at UM can apply for the fund, you don’t need an official registration at the Chambre of Commerce!
The criteria for a CooSa grant are activities that:
- are organized by and for students
- are new and/or special in some way
- are of ongoing significance for the university community
- will benefit a sizeable group of UM students
- transcends the discipline, faculty and/or study association.
- involve formal representation of UM in the Netherlands or abroad, including national or international sports championships and other events.
- will have a lasting impact on the university community by fostering ties among UM students or between students and the university.
- are, preferably, supported by a financial contribution from the organizing committee, participants and/or other grants or sponsors. This can also be entrance fees. The University Fund Limburg appreciates it if you have made an effort to raise funds through other sources.
- do not exceed the amount of €3.500,- euros.
The term ‘activities’ is meant in the broadest sense. Examples of CooSa subsidies we granted in the past are:
- Creating a podcast
- Creating a booklet
- Organising an event, forum or debate session
